Hi there! Welcome to Diet Buzz. My name is Anne and I started this blog because I’ve always been interested in diet, nutrition and weight loss.
About 8 years ago I had hit a point in my life where I knew I had to do something about my weight. I weighed 234 lbs. - the heaviest I have ever been. I was uncomfortable, had difficulty getting out of bed in the mornings and had no self esteem whatsoever. I finally got motivated to do something and managed to lose over 100 lbs. Even more importantly, though, I’ve managed to keep that weight off all these years.
I am always fascinated by the diet trends that come and go and how the diet industry tries to make losing weight into such a mystery. I think if we are all honest with ourselves we realize that the only way to really lose weight is to create a calorie deficit either by eating fewer calories or exercising more - preferably a combination of both.
Having said that, there are definitely diets and programs out there that can make losing weight easier. There is no one-size-fits-all way of losing weight that is going to work for everyone. The goal of this blog is to look at some of the more popular diet plans out there to help people find a program that will work for them and their lifestyle. At the same time I want to take a look at some of the more common myths about dieting, talk about what works and what doesn’t work, discuss ways of staying motivated to lose weight and anything else that comes to mind.
