Lose 10 lbs a week - no diet, no exercise! Just take a pill and the pounds melt away permanently!

We’ve all heard these claims from various weight loss products over the years. Logically, most of us know that the claims are untrue.

However, there is something so seductive about the thought of losing weight without any effort.

Unfortunately, that means that many people are sucked in by diet pills, patches and creams that not only don’t work, but that rely on false claims in their advertising to make sales.

The truth is that the weight loss industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and there is a lot of money to be made if you can get people to buy your product.

That’s why so many companies make false claims about their products and give people false hope.

Interestingly, in response to all these “miracle” weight loss products, the Federal Trade Commission and the Competition Bureau of Canada put together a webite advertising the product FatFoe to try to educate consumers.

FatFoe is an eggplant extract pill that you take before meals that blocks the absorption of fat.

You can lose up to 10 lbs. a week and you don’t have to change your diet or exercise. It’s guaranteed to work for everyone and will allow you to keep the weight off permanently. Sounds great, right? Except…none of this is true.

There’s actually no product called FatFoe. Instead, it was invented by the two government agencies to warn consumers of what to watch out for when trying to spot fake weight loss products.

When you click on the “order” button on the FatFoe site you are taken to a page that shows you all of the false claims and provides you with info on how to spot diet product scams.

It’s an interesting project and concept and really has some great info on how you can protect yourself from scams and fake products.

I’d encourage you to check it out and learn more before you are tempted by the next “miracle” product to hit the shelves.
